An Irish Sessiun

After the Cliffs of Moher we went on to Dingle for a sessiun of music at a local pub. I had a great time and everyone was singing. An old man asked me to dance. Honestly, although everyone had told us that Dingle was THE place to go for traditional music, the music at The Pines on Thursdays is much better!!

Cliffs of Moher

The weather has turned for the better and Ireland is experiencing an Indian Summer. It was a beautiful day to visit the Cliffs of Moher. Remember the movie The Princess Bride? These are the cliffs that they climbed. They are just as impressive up close as they were in the film.

Rock of Cashel

Tuesday we went to the Rock of Cashel. It is an amazing, commanding presence on this hill surrounded by low valleys. It dates from the 11th through the 15th centuries. The weather is typical Irish drizzle mixed with rain.

Our Irish Cottage

Here is the cottage we are staying at in Kilfinane, a tiny village near Limerick. It is very comfortable with plenty of heat and hot water. The thatching is neat too!

Irish Whiskey

Yes, I am acquiring a taste for whiskey. In Dublin we went to the pubs every night and I had to drink something. Wanting to choose something traditionally Irish, I tried Guiness, but I don't like beer. Whiskey is smooth, especially if you don't drink it on ice (as some people here do).
